Biography
Sid is of counsel at Ball Morse Lowe and primarily contributes in the firm’s Oil, Gas + Energy Practice Group.
Sid’s practice is focused primarily within the energy sector with an emphasis on title examination and the preparation of drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions for companies in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado. He provides counsel to oil and gas companies regarding their upstream operations. He is also an expert in all manner of energy-related transactions from purchase and sale agreements and assignments to surface use and leasing (oil and gas, wind, and solar). Sid works on behalf of oil and gas operators, non-operating interest owners, mineral buyers, renewable energy producers, private equity firms, and landowners. During his legal career, Sid has represented clients in oil, gas and energy transactional matters and various civil litigation matters.
Sid received his Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School, where he participated in the Baylor Law Innocence Project. He began his legal career at a civil litigation firm in Houston, and he represented clients in various civil litigation matters. Subsequently, he transitioned into representing clients in oil, gas and energy matters. In 2020, Sid graduated from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University with a Master of Arts in Ministry, while focusing his studies on justice-based ministries. He spends his time between the law and his pastoral/ministerial endeavors which include using law-based ministries to serve others in need.
